The Summer of '08

As the school year is coming close to an end I have been looking forward to what the summer will bring. Here is a list of the events both exciting and plain that will be awaiting me in the next couple hot Utah months.
1. Valerie & James are coming. This for me is very exciting! I can't wait to have another sister around that will help shift the conversations at my parents to something other than Jessica and Anders. Maybe we could reenact some of the good old times and fight about clothes.... clothes... and more clothes. Possible we could also get in a rehearsal or two of the Hart Girl's Ensemble, Jessica could take Brittany's place, I think we could ask for our matching outfits back, I don't think they are really going to make a sequel to Napoleon Dynamite.
2. The back breaking work of putting in sprinklers, rocks, grass, trees, etc. for the yard of our new home. Yes the new home has come up again. Give us a break people, we don't have anything exciting happening in our life other than that!
3. Starting a new job. I have decided to take an offer I have received at Alphagraphics in Customer Service. Unfortunately, my summer this year will really not be a summer at all. I just realized that for the past 22 years I have only had to "work" 9 out of the 12 months of the year. Maybe I should reconsider my decision and continue to be a ..... never mind.
4. The 5 year anniversary. Wow I can't believe that Kevin and I have been married for 5 years on June 14th. We definitely have been through our share of a couple ups and downs, but for the most part we look and act the same. I am sure that parents and close friends might disagree, but I would tell them that they don't know what goes on behind the scenes.
5. The Garden. I know that essentially this is part of the yard, but to me it is a whole new world. I started some vegetables from seeds about a month ago and have watched them grow as if they were my children. I have tenderly given them good soil, water, sunlight, and most importantly love and hope for a bright future. I just hope they can last once I transplant them into the unfriendly world.
6. The left arm sun tan. This is a symbol of subjection to the fuel god's in Davis County. Yesterday I realized as I was driving home from work, that my left arm is receiving a beautiful sun tan while the rest of my body is still freckled and a creamy white. As I looked around at the other single passenger drivers sitting on the freeway we all had our windows down and the left arm hanging out of our cars. At this very moment I am trying to think of a cheer we could all do, but it is just not coming to me.
7. Lastly my 10 year high school reunion. I was just emailed the information for it today. I have to say that I really have no desire to go, I feel that my life is constant high school.
As you can see my summer is going to be full of inspirational and exciting events.
Thanks for reading.

I think that along with the left arm tan you should also start working out just half of your body really hard. I mean really beef up. And then to top it off, adopt a second, completely different persona. Then when you talk to people you should turn back and forth showing them your left side, then your right side, thus giving them the impression they are talking to two different people.

Just a thought. Might help you spruce up your crappy summer.

I love the part about your garden...and how you are trying to give them hope for a bright future...but really all I have to say about that is that I won't be surprised if you they don't last a year! When you call and say..."Well my beautiful Garden didn't last" I will then say..."Well I am not surprised!"

Can't wait to see you and your beautiful home (and garden)

I really wanted to leave a funny comment.... but I will never be able to compete with Ben... and that's exactly why I had to leave Paradigm, I am not even the most hated anymore!
